SUMMARY:The First Multi-Quad ICP-MS: A New Tool for Radionuclide Detection
DESCRIPTION:The NexION® 5000 multi-quadrupole ICP-MS system – the first in its category to boast four quads – is innovatively designed to meet and exceed the demanding trace-elemental testing requirements of ionizing radiation and magnetic properties in materials. \nKey Learnings and benefits \n• Speed – Faster analysis \n• Accuracy – Superior removal interference \n• Safety – Lowest maintenance required than any other commercial ICP-MS \n• Capability – Lower detection limits (PPQ Levels) \n  \nSpeaker: \n \nDr. Fadi Abou Shakra\, Ph.D. has been leading innovations in ICP-MS for over 30 years.  He was instrumental in launching the first cell based ICP-MS and patented the first method to use a tandem mass spectrometry (QQQ) for ICP-MS.  His ICP-MS experience is expansive and includes neutron activation analysis and metabolic pathway identification for pharmaceutical applications. He has worked closely with the nuclear industry in the UK\, France\, and the Netherlands lending to the adoption of both Elan and NexIONs in hot gloveboxes. \nAt PerkinElmer Dr. Abou Shakra has led many innovations in ICP-MS technology including the development of the extended dynamic range capabilities enabling the detection of % level elements as well as ultra-trace levels elements in one analysis.  His market experience and in-depth technical knowledge combined with his drive for innovation resulted in him being made head of the PerkinElmer ICP-MS business\, where he has led the development of the NexION 1000 and 2000 and the new (2020) MultiQuad NexION 5000 ICP-MS instruments. \n  \nREGISTER NOW: \nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.Name *FirstLastEmail *Phone *Organization *Title *Company Address *Address Line 1Address Line 2City--- Select state ---AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasCaliforniaColoradoConnecticutDelawareDistrict of ColumbiaFloridaGeorgiaHawaiiIdahoIllinoisIndianaIowaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMaineMarylandMassachusettsMichiganMinnesotaMississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNew JerseyNew MexicoNew YorkNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaOhioOklahomaOregonPennsylvaniaRhode IslandSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtahVermontVirginiaWashingtonWest VirginiaWisconsinWyomingStateZip CodeSubmit

SUMMARY:Redefining the Limits of Handheld Raman Spectroscopy
DESCRIPTION:OVERVIEW\nRecent advances in handheld Raman spectroscopy enable both higher sensitivity qualitative analysis and quantification of finished products. New methods remove the requirement for wet-chemical methods that require significant time and resources to use\, such as liquid chromatography. Applications such as counterfeit identification and quantification are now possible with a handheld instrument which can be conveniently used outside the laboratory. \nWith Raman spectroscopy it is possible to differentiate between authentic\, counterfeit\, and reverse-engineered pharmaceuticals and quantify solid dosage forms. In this informational webinar\, Dr. Stephen W. Hoag of the University of Maryland School of Pharmaceutical Sciences\, will discuss examples of where these new techniques have been applied. \nThere will be time at the end of the webinar for a Q&A session with the presenter and Dr. Adam J. Hopkins\, Spectroscopy Product Manager at Metrohm USA to address your questions and discuss how method-driven Raman can streamline quality control measurements. \n  \nSPEAKERS\nStephen W. Hoag\, Ph.D.\nProfessor of Pharmaceutical Sciences\,\nUniversity of Maryland\, Baltimore \n  \n  \n \nAdam J. Hopkins\, Ph.D.\nVibrational spectroscopy\,\nMetrohm USA \n  \n  \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Trade Show: 2020 “Clifton Corridor” Biomedical Research Equipment and Supplies Exhibit (Emory University and CDC)
DESCRIPTION:The Technical Sales Association\, a nationwide member-led organization\, invites you to exhibit at the 2020 Clifton Corridor Biomedical Research Equipment and Supplies Exhibit in the heart of major research institutions. Based on 30 years of sponsoring similar exhibits\, this new location is being added as a permanent exhibit on the TSA calendar. This year’s exhibit will be held at the exciting location at Emory Conference Center Hotel on Clifton Road. This is an outstanding meeting/exhibit space facility with ample parking an easy access for both the Emory Medical School and CDC Research community. Joining TSA will be several local groups and individual facilities promoting this year’s exhibit to the local biomedical research community along the growing Clifton Corridor. Emory School of Medicine ranks 19th among U.S. schools of medicine in external research funding. Ranked 18th nationally in NIH dollars received\, Emory received $456 million in sponsored research funding awards. The school is best known for its research and treatment in infectious disease\, neurosciences\, heart disease\, cancer\, transplantation\, orthopaedics\, pediatrics\, renal disease\, opthamology\, and geriatrics. Research facilities include Whitehead Biomedical Research Building\, Rollins Research Center\, Woodruff Memorial Research Building\, Health Sciences Research Building\, Winship Cancer Institute\, Yerkes Primate Center and Vaccine Research Center. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention works to protect America from health\, safety and security threats\, both foreign and in the U.S. To accomplish its mission\, CDC conducts critical science and research. Whether diseases start at home or abroad\, are chronic or acute\, curable or preventative\, CDC fights disease and supports communities and citizens to do the same. Opening its doors in the summer of 1946\, its annual budget was $10.0 million and only 400 employees. Today\, CDC’s annual budget is in excess of $7.0 billion and employees over 12\,000 researchers\, scientists and physicians. The 2020 exhibit will feature over 40 regional and national companies presenting to over 200 attendees. Space is limited so we strongly suggest you send in your exhibit application today. Apply for space at both the “Clifton Road” Ga. Tech/Midtown Alliance Biomedical Exhibits and receive a $100 discount ($50 per show).
