On June 1st, the American Academy of Pediatrics released the new Red Book® 2018 edition, which expands established AAP recommendations for TB blood testing in children. The AAP now preferentially recommends the use of TB blood tests (IGRAs) in BCG-vaccinated children aged 2 years and older.
